POWERED INDUSTRIAL TRUCKS (PIT) SAFETY
The Philippine Society Of Safety Practitioners Middle East Region (PSSP-MER) conducted a seminar/workshop on Forklift Safety last August 21, 2009. About 170+ safety practitioners and advocates attended the event at Dhahran Palace Hotel, Dhahran, KSA.
The seminar was presented by Engr. Levi S. Alejo, PSSE-MER Vice Président (Internal Affairs). It is part of PSSP-MER’s commitment to provide continuous safety education to its members.

Barangay Carolina in Naga City lies at the foot of Mt. Isarog, a dormant volcano in the Bicol Region. This barangay with the largest land area is the chosen recipient of Community Service from the PSSP-MER. The barangay’s Education Outreach Program chaired by Barangay Kagawad Editha Banda is the main focus of the society’s support.

• Teodora Moscoso Elementary School (TMES) Chainlink Fence & Gate
• Modular Chairs for the Educare Center V Program for the remote sitios of the barangay.
PSSP-MER courtesy call to Secretary Marianito D. Roque of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)

Two officers of the Philippine Society of Safety Practitioners, Middle East Region (PSSP-MER) which is also the Middle East Chapter of the Association of Safety Practitioners Inc. (ASPPI-MEC), paid a courtesy visit to the honorable Secretary Marianito D. Roque of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) last May 18, 2009 at the head office in Intramuros Manila.
This special visit was made possible by the kind arrangement of Director Atty. Brenda L. Villafuerte of the Department of Labor and Employment, Bureau of Working Conditions (DOLE-BWC).
